Beverley began her singing career as one third of a trio, aged 18.
In the late 80s, she became backing vocalist for Pentagon studios in Widnes.
A newly-signed band rehearsing there (Great and Lady Soul) offered Beverley the chance to be part of their first tour, supporting London Beat. Becoming friendly with the bass player from London Beat, she was put forward to be a backing vocalist for Geoffrey Williams (a soul singer from London signed to EMI, managed by Hit and Run Music). They supported Paul Young and later Wet Wet Wet arena tours.
Later Beverley went on to be a backing vocalist for OMD, and sang backing vocals on ”Pandora’s Box”, as well as appearing on “Top of the Pops” with them. She went on to sing backing vocals on “Dancing on the Seven Seas”, and numerous tracks on the “Liberator” album. It was during this time she became involved with Olympic records and performed on a track by Mr Peach called “I Want Your Love”.
While working with OMD, Beverley met Phil Coxon, their keyboard player. He also produced and did remixes on “Sugar Tax”, and “Liberator”. They went on to form Isha-D and co-wrote “Stay Tonight”, which was initially a soul track.
Cleveland City picked up on this track as well as their first album. "Stay Tonight" was remixed by Chris and James and it became an underground hit.
Isha D appeared on the cover of Mix Mag, and the track was described as an “anthem alert”. They reached number 1 in the dance charts, and number 5 with the soul version in the R n B charts. The song peaked at number 27 in the UK national charts.
Beverley has continued to perform and write. She was a backing vocalist for Errol Brown and performed vocals on World of Shoes track “I am Strong”. This was released in the US and was remixed by Junior Vasquez appearing on his “Twillo” album.
Beverley's influences range from Kate Bush, Foo Fighters, Cocteau Twins, Caron Wheeler and Massive Attack. Contemporary influences include Dua Lipa and Nao.
